Recently, I was able to participate in a fashion show that was unforgettable, to say the least. The night of rehearsal was fun, hilarious, and the chemistry between this group of strangers was great. I knew at the end of that night that I had gained newfound friendships in these wonderful people that would last a lifetime.
Snapshots by K, two wonderful ladies who decided to follow their dreams and capture our most memorable moments for a living as photographers, hosted the event. Needless to say I felt like a princess that day, I know the other female models felt the same way. The models received a complementary hairstyle and makeup, which was an opportunity for Shaleeha (hair), Robyn (makeup), and Kamai (makeup) to showcase their talents, as well.
The ladies put together a wonderful event, which allowed networking opportunities, promoted small businesses throughout the region, and even fundraised for a local charity. The charity LNL Foundation is a nonprofit organization derived from the products, Lounge N Lax functional children’s wear. The foundation is committed to provide eco-friendly functional wear for children with childhood cancer. For more information visit lnlfoundation.org. Now let’s get down to the fashion. I can’t speak for the other models but I was stressing out about this fashion show. The scenes for the show were All White, Business, Sports, After 7, and Couple. I wanted everything that I wore in the show to be a memorable and unique. The most stressful scene for me, I must say, was the all white scene. This scene was frustrating since it was an all white event. I did not want to be modeling something in the show that the audience could possibly have on.
For the All White scene I wore a white sheer lace dress with a tan lining. I added color wearing a pair seafoam crisscross strapped heel sandals, a seafoam, light green, and cream necklace, and matching bracelets.
The business scene my attire included a red asymmetrical skirt, black shell, a white collarless blazer, and a pair of black and white cutout booties. The accessories for this outfit included a silver chain with red teardrop charms, shimmer black dome earrings, and a set of silver and red bracelets.
The After 7 scene had to be sexy. I brought sexy back wearing a gold leopard mini flare dress. I made the look extra special by adding a pair of gold heelless wedges with matching gold link chain and bracelet.
The couple scene was last minute, but when my partner called and asked me I could not pass up the opportunity. For the couple scene I wore an Asian floral long sleeve bodycon dress. I paired the dress with a pair of black nubuck wedges, gold doorknocker earrings, a gold link chain, and gold and a black bracelet set.
The overall experience was amazing. I had a great time, met wonderful people, and got a chance to shop, WHAT MORE CAN I ASK FOR? I can’t wait until the ladies hold the next fashion show and the team gets back together, so keep your ears open for more information about it this Fall.
